Absolute E0, E1 and E2 transition rates in even-even nuclei obtained in thermal neutron capture

Subnanosecond lifetimes have been measured in deformed and transitional even-even nuclei. Strong evidence is reported for spin-related octupole vibrational admixtures in 2QP band members in 168Er. The 0+ level in 172Yb is a candidate for a mixed symmetry state. Forbidden transitions in the 0(6) nuclei 196Pt and 124Te are considered.
