Humanoid Manipulator Control Based on Speech Recognition for Intelligent Service Robot

The use of service robots expanded in daily life after the rise in production of industrial robots in the factory. The technical development on intelligent service robots involved extensive studies about regarding environment realization and intelligence technology. However, the speech recognition and the manipulator in the intelligence service robot substituting or assisting a human are as important as the robots themselves. Therefore, in this chapter, the humanoid manipulator control, based on speech recognition is proposed for an intelligent service robot with two 6 Degree of Freedom (DOFs) anthropomorphous manipulators. In the experiment, an intelligent task such as vision-based grasping-giving, is done by the intelligent service robot. The good performance of the intelligent service robot is confirmed through the results of the experiment.
