A software process improvement approach tailored for small organizations and small projects (tutorial)

Management of SPI projects is a key success factor to implement the Capability Maturity Model (CMM®) in an organization. This paper describes how the Motorola’s Global Software Group in Cordoba Argentina tailored the organizational process to be used in a process improvement project. All key process areas of the model are discussed, as well as strategy followed. Quantitative results of the experience are also presented, relating the organizational goals with the process improvement project results.
