Summary form only given. Many people are convinced that computer use and Web sites are going to revolutionize how higher education is carried out. Much faculty effort and money is being expended in this area. However, serious questions need to be addressed by carefully designed research studies. One of these questions is: "In what ways does computer use enhance student learning?" This presentation addresses the question by setting a context for it, by summarizing the few published studies on the question and by reporting work in progress on this campus to gather data on the issue.
