LMAP (Language-Multimedia Assessment Program)

LMAP (Language-Multimedia Assessment Program) is a web-based tool for testing and training second language vocabulary and grammar knowledge. In both testing and training applications the program focuses on knowledge of the form, which is manifest either in recognition or production, and the speed with which these processes takes place. The LMAP program consists of a suite of language tests. Paradigmatic among these is the Yes/No Vocabulary Test. The test assesses size and speed of recognition vocabulary in a cost and time-efficient format. The effectiveness of the test as a measure of L2 English vocabulary knowledge has been examined in research that has established the effectiveness of the test in discriminating between levels of learner and item difficulty for assessment and placement measures.
