Optimization Research on 4D44 Diesel Engine Based on IEUP

n order to meet the third phase of national emission regulation, the fuel, intake and combustion systems were optimized under the condition that the engine body was not modified. The integrated electronic unit pump(IEUP) was adopted in the fuel injection system, and the length of high-pressure pipeline and the parameter of injector were optimized.Besides these, the intake port was improved, and the combustion chamber was redesigned. Finally, the electric control parameters were optimized according to testing characteristics for the third phase of emission regulation. It was proved that the emission performance for the optimized and improved diesel engine was markedly improved and could reach the third phase of national emission regulation by 13-mode test cycle.
