ASSESSMENT OF WAVE INTERACTION EFFECTS ON TENSION LEG PLATFORMS

Experiments are used to investigate the phenomenon of wave interaction on a tension leg platform. The paper presents results of experiments to investigate the effect of the modification of the incident wave as it passes through a tension leg platform due to wave/structure interaction effects (upwelling). This study considers the effect of spreading of the wave spectra on a TLP with both fixed and freely compliant configurations. Results are also presented to assess the significance of draught and pontoons shapes.
