SoLoMo User Experience Study Using a Pivoted Parallel Coordinates

With the development of mobile and location-based technology, SoLoMo is becoming the trend for applications in different fields. However, many of the existing applications only take advantage of a very small part of the rich potentials provided by the SoLoMo framework. We introduce in this paper a pivoted parallel coordinates supporting the study of the complex user experiences in SoLoMo applications. We also present a series of studies and designs we did utilizing this coordinates. Hope the approach and tools introduced in this paper can serve as a means for more designers to better position existing applications and for them to identify novel scenarios that are otherwise buried in the numerous factors involved in SoLoMo.
