Research on Design of Brushless Permanent-magnet Motors in Modern Vehicle Applications

In this paper,incorporating the simulation in multi-fields with the optimization in system integration and dividing the whole design process into three main procedures,a new design concept and a new design principle are presented for brushless permanent-magnet motors in modern vehicle applications.Studying the design of the rotor structures of brushless permanent-magnet motors based on the stress analyses to the rotor structures,further presented is a V-type rotor structure for IPM blushless permanent-magnet motors,which is applied in "Exceeding No.3" fuel-cell vehicle.Effective improvement in mechanical performances at high speed and reduction in vibration and noise of the motor are resulted.
