Hierarchical Fault Diagnosis Approach for Power Grid with Information Fusion Using Multi-data Resources

Considering the development of power system automation,communications and wide area measurement technology,we put forward a hierarchical fault diagnosis approach for power grid with information fusion based on multi-data resources.The approach is divided into two hierarchies:the first diagnosis level based on switching-status data,and the second one bases on information fusion of multi-data resources.While the fault diagnosis of single element of the power grid is implemented based on switching-status data from SCADA,so as to diagnose multi-component outage combining switching-status data from SCADA and continuous-time data derived from fault recorder and WAMS.Simulation and calculations show that,the proposed approach definitely heightens the pertinence of diagnosis by using the hierarchical mode,and reduces the amount of electrical continuous-time data while effectively lowers the influence resulted from relay or breaker's mal-operation or refuse-operation.The presented approach significantly improves the diagnostic accuracy.
