FREEFALL; A LAUNCH PREDICTION MODEL FOR FREE-FALL LIFEBOATS (REVISED). DOCUMENTATION; FINAL REPT

This report discusses research that was conducted to develop a mathematical model that can be used to predict the launch behavior of free-fall lifeboats. Numerical procedures for evaluating the different phases of the free-fall launch have been presented and are discussed. Two methods to infer the potential of an acceleration field to cause human injury, although not a part of this research, are also discussed. Operating information, documentation, and source code for the Lifeboat Analysis System (LAS) are presented in an Appendix to the report.
