Object Size Measurement Based on Stereo Vision

Stereo vision is a branch of computer vision, and it use computer technical and optics method to acquire 3D object information from two view images or multi-view images. Image processing and stereo vision technique were used to calibrate camera and reconstruct space point of object. Firstly, left and right images of the calibration reference object were segmented and the control points were obtained. Then image coordinates of the control points were got using image edge tracing technique. After that, camera linear calibration theory and calibration data were used to obtain left and right camera parameters. Finally, three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction for space point of object was employed to acquire the world coordinates of test points. Several points were selected for object size measurement. Experimental results show that our method can get good measurement precision.
