The FDTD-method for EMC-problems with application to electrostatic discharge and delta-I noise calculations

This contribution gives an overview of the research conducted at INTEC to model various EMC-phenomena using the finite-difference time-domain method. First, the advantages of an object-oriented approach are highlighted. The prediction of the shielding effectiveness of a metallic enclosure, a study of delta-I noise caused by power plane resonances and the simulation of electrostatic discharges on a cable connection between two systems illustrate the power of the FDTD-method.
