Impact of Electronic Information Resources on the Mindset of Researchers

Themainpurposeofthestudyinhandwastoassesstheimpactofadventofelectronicinformation resourcesonsomecoreaspectsrelatedtotheresearchactivityacrossagriculturallibrariesofNorthern India.Sixaspectshavebeencoveredinthisstudy.Sevensampleduniversitiesweresurveyedpersonally bytheinvestigatorforcollectingdataaboutthequestionsunderinvestigation.Aquestionnairewas usedasadatacollectiontool.Filledoutquestionnairesfrom1,200respondentswerecollectedand processedwiththehelpofSPSSstatisticalpackage.Theresponseoftheusersforeachstatement underinvestigationhasbeencollectedthroughasimple‘Yes’/‘No’option.Chisquaredtesthasbeen administeredtoworkoutthesignificanceofassociationbetweentheparametersunderstudyandthe useropinionthereof.Themajorityofrespondentsareoftheopinionthatduetoadventofe-resources andinviewoftheICTdevelopmentsthe‘literaturesurvey’(92.94%)and‘problemidentification’ (51.81%)hasbecomeeasyandfast.The‘spirittoconductmoreandmoreresearch’hasincreased amongrespondents(86.62%).Moreover,thishasalsoenabledtheusersto‘complete’(84.31%)and ‘publish’(89.97%)theirresearchworkinalessertimethanrequiredinprintera.Agoodpercentage ofrespondents(46.26%)alsoagreethatthe‘crosscomparisonoffindingsofone’sstudywiththose ofotherstudieshasbecomeeasyandfast’(46.26%)inelectronicera.
