Demonstration of self-healing and automatic retrieval in two-fibre bi-directional WDM ring network

Self-healing and automatic retrieval are demonstrated in a two-fibre bi-directional WDM ring network having four nodes. Each node has a wavelength-interleaved bi-directional add drop amplifier module with an N/spl times/N arrayed-waveguide grating multiplexer.
