This study aims at developing a new shallow composite beam system suitable for long span and reduction of story height, for which the existing composite beams available in literature were investigated to take advantage of merits and strengthen weakness of existing system. This paper reports the flexural performance evaluation of new composite beam named by GSF-Beam through the flexural behavior experiment of 7 different types. Based on this result, this research consider effects of the GSF-Beam against the steel beam and proposed a optimum shape of the GSF-Beam. The GSF-Beam has lots of merits comparing to the steel beam and the existing composite beams; It can revels its inherent flexural strength, stiffness as well as great flexural ductility due to buckling restrained concrete which is pumped at the central part of the GSF-Beam. Moreover It has many effects such as material quantity reduction, saving story height and advantage of carrying and lifting the composite beams. So it is feasible to be time saving and cost saving when you apply the GSF-Beam in the construction site. Thus, the GSF-Beam has good constructablity and economic efficiency by weight lightening and shop fabrication.
