Supraglacial drainage and its relationship to structure, with particular reference to Charles Rabots Bre, Okstindan, Norway

The small, steep glacier Charles Rabots Bre has an exceptionally well-developed drainage pattern. Deeply incised channels, many of which have highly sinuous meanders, and moulins are common; because of the stagnant nature of the ice, they survive from year to year. The factors affecting the development of the supraglacial drainage system, and its relationship with open and closed crevasses, foliation, and stratification are discussed, and several stages of evolution are recognised.
