The Consistency Approach to the On-Line Prediction of Hybrid System Configurations1

Abstract The supervision of an uncertain hybrid system poses the problem of the fast prediction of its behavioral operating regions on a sampled time-line. We refer to these regions as the configurations of the hybrid system, that partition the state-space into cells that ease its monitoring, diagnosis and control. In this paper, configuration prediction is approached as a constraint satisfaction problem at both continuous and discrete levels.
