발리문 도시재생의 주민참여기법 특성 연구

Rapid industrializing had Korean cities expanded quantitatively, but caused a lot of problems as well like mammonism or human alienation. Expecially at this moment that redevelopment of apartment housing are facing the limit in Korea, it is very imperative to see city not as the way to accumulate wealth but as another nature for human living. It also has to be considered that the city belongs to the one who lives in there. This study therefore aims at finding out the characteristic of 'Resident Participation Technique' in Ballymun, where has been working on urban regeneration from November 1997. The objects of this study are the newsletters published in 1997~2001, the early 5 years of the regeneration work, and 'Content Analysis Technique' was used as the method. The characteristic of resident participation technique in Ballymun is as in the following. First, it informed the residents continuously of every detail regarding processes and situations throughout the work. Second, the residents were taught and educated in order to be able to take a place in professional realm of the work. Third, individually it had the residents take pride in, socially it had a bond of residentship forged. Namely, the resident participation technique in Ballymun not only focused on applying their opinions to the work but also tried to achieve local unity based on community spirit, by improving the condition of the individual capacity and the social ties. The result of this study is expected to be used as the basic information which gives a new vision and direction for Koran urban regeneration in the future.
