Characterisation of passive intermodulation in printed lines

The paper reports on two approaches to characterisation of passive intermodulation products in printed transmission lines. Detailed comparison of the test setups is presented, including calibration of the instruments and preparation of the test samples. Results of passive intermodulation measurements on the reference microstrip lines are juxtaposed to testify consistency of the material characterisation, and the merits and constraints of each approach are discussed.
