Lymphography in lymphoma: with particular reference to Hodgkin's disease.

In Recent Years, the value of lymphography in the detection and diagnosis of occult lymphomatous disease has become increasingly apparent (2, 6, 7, 11–13). Accurate initial assessment and staging in patients with Hodgkin's disease bears a direct relationship to the efficacy of treatment and to long-term survival (9, 10). At the Ontario Cancer Institute, Toronto, lymphography has now become an integral part of primary evaluation of early cases. One hundred and twenty-five consecutive successful lymphographic studies of patients with histologically proved lymphoma have been reviewed and form the basis of this analysis. The technic employed is that of Kin-month et al. (5), as modified by Wallace and his associates (14). At least 6 to 10 cc of Ethiodol is injected intralymphatically into the dorsum of each foot.
