Synthesis and Structure of Cluster Monomer Fe2(CO)6(μ-SCH2CHCH2)(μ3-S)Fe(CO)2(η5-C5H5)

The reaction of complex Fe 2 (CO) 6 S 2 1 with allylmagnesium chloride in tetrahydrofuran yields the compound Fe 2 (CO) 6 (μ-SCH 2 CH CH 2 )(μ-SMgCI) 2a , whose treatment with CpFe(CO) 2 X (X l, Cl; Cp η 5 -C 5 H 5 ) leads to the title compound 3 , the structure of which has been determined by X-ray diffraction analysis.
