Realization of Accurate Calculation for Trimming Line based on Grid Mapping

Using Finite Element Method(FEM) to simulate the flanging process,a kind of grid mapping method was put forward to acquire the trimming line.Discretizing the flanging contour line and projecting the obtained points onto the grid model after the flanging simulation,the numbers of elements including the projecting points and their relative positions that the projecting points locate in the elements were determined,and the new coordinate values of the projecting points on flanging blank grid model were acquired through the mapping relationship of elements and nodes,which were established by simulation.Then,constructing the trimming line using the new coordinate values of the projecting points,the trimming line can be accurately calculated after only two or three iterative computations.
