태양추적 장치의 개발과 이의 적용을 통한 태양에너지 이용의 활성화

There are currently various types of energy systems to harness the sun’s energy such as solar water heaters, solar thermal power engines, PV modules, daylighting and solar hydrogen systems, which are capable of reducing the emission of green house gases. Of these, many of them have the potential to work better if more solar energy becomes available by tracking the sun while in operation. The system introduced in this paper consists of motion controllers, motor drives, step-motors, feedback devices and applicatron. CdS sensors are employed for the closed loop feed back control to compensate for any erroneous action due to gear backlashes by strong winds. The collection of solar energy was accomplished by hiring a mini-dish concentrator with 30 ㎝ in diameter. Comparisons with those of KASI(Korea Astronomy & Space Science Institute) are made for the solar position data, in terms of azimuth and elevation, sunrise and sunset times. The results presented in this article validates the accuracy of the system in solar tracking, which could make contributions for energy savings.
