Comparision of Two Electronic Transformer Error Measuring Methods

Currently, most electronic transformer calibrators are based on the synchronous pulse method, which is limited in the actual on-site conditions,so a fixed time-delay method is presented,In order to study the consistency of the two methods, the electronic transformer error definition was analyzed, error calculation formulas of the two methods were also given, and an on-site test was verified. The test results show that the two methods are very consistent at amplitude error measurement(the difference is 0.03%),but have a large difference(21') in the phase error measurements. The reason is that electronic transformer rated delay time is very difficult to accurately measure with the impact of communications and network structure. It is proposed to use synchronous pulse method in the electronic transformer on-site calibration. When the fixed time-delay method is used, the accuracy of the rated delay time must be strictly guaranteed.
