BANVERKET EXPERIENCE OF CAPACITY CALCULATIONS ACCORDING TO THE UIC CAPACITY LEAFLET

This paper describes a common project with the participant countries of Germany (DB Netz), France (SNCF), Netherlands (Prorail) Austrai (OBB), Switzerland (SBB), Czech (CD), Italy and Sweeden (Banverket) that wrote a leaflet, UIC 405-IR, for capacity calculations. The chapters include definitions, calculation of capacity consumption and application. According the leaflet, Banverket has calculated capacity consumption manually in the annual report for the years 2001 and 2002. In Banverket's investment plan for 2003-2015 capacity problems have been estimated for the years. Input has been traffic demand, calculation of capacity consumption and traffic simulations. In the project UIC Capacity Management, capacity consumption is now being calculated for different bottlenecks around Europe. Banverket is studying the Stockholm-Vasteras line.
