A Tentative Discussion on the Monitoring of the Yigong Landslide-blocked Lake with Satellite Remote Sensing Technique

Using multi temporal and multi platform satellite remote sensing data, the authors obtained the area changes of the Yigong Lake after Yigong Landslide. The water levels and water volumes of the lake in different periods were calculated by using a digital elevation model created by the topographic map. Some hydraulic parameters, such as width of dam collapse, maximum flux and maximum flow speed, were also deduced. These calculated results were very similar to those measured in site. The satellite remote sensing method can be of great help in the monitoring of geological hazards.
