DEVELOPMENT OF FAULT TOLERANCE SYSTEM BY OPTIMAL SELECTION OF COTS COMPONENTS UNDER CONSENSUS RECOVERY BLOCK

This paper addresses the problem of optimal selection of components for a modular software system that is build by assembling a set of COTS components. A fault tolerance architecture is proposed, which support consensus recovery block Scheme. The model proposed in this paper maximizes reliability and minimizes cost subject to minimum reliability level constraint to be achieved for each function of the software. Numerical illustrations are provided to demonstrate the models developed in this paper. Normalization technique has been applied to the objective function of the defined problem.
