Digitally-programmable fully-differential current-mode first-order LP, HP and AP filter sections

Analog signal processing in the current-mode regime offers several advantages over its voltage-mode counterpart. Although, current-mode circuits exhibit better noise performance, fully-differential topologies may be employed to improve the noise cancellation,on account of their common-mode rejection properties. This paper presents fully-differential, first-order, low-pass, high-pass and all-pass filter sections operating in current-mode. The recently introduced Digitally Controllable Differential Voltage Current Conveyor (DC-DVCC) has been chosen as the active building block. Programmability of the filter characteristics through a digital control word is demonstrated.
