Thermoelectret state in polyvinyl chloride : polyethylene polyblends

Thermoelectrets of polyvinyl chloride (PVC)–polyethylene blends were prepared and their thermally stimulated discharge current was studied. The results are discussed in terms of space charge that leads to induced dipole formation. The results indicate that the contribution of PVC dipoles to the total polarization of polyblend thermoelectrets is either insignificant, or is masked by the space‐charge polarization that leads to induced dipole formation.
