Collision-Resistant Transmission Scheme for Active RFID Systems

The main problem of RFID systems are the collisions in a radio channel, caused by sharing the common radio resources by all tags. This issue is even more important in systems with active transmitter-only tags, since they use simplex communication channel and the feedback information for transmission arbitration is not available. In this paper we propose a new DS-CDMA based transmission scheme, dedicated for transmitter-only tags. The proposed method has been verified via computer simulations that show a substantial improvement in tag recognition rate when compared to a classical Manchester-coded ALOHA transmission scheme.
