Virtual instrument for recording and wavelet based analysis of ECG signals

In the paper the solution of the measuring system for ECG signal recording and identification is presented. The project aims at designing the complete PC-based virtual instrument as "a testing platform" for acquisition, processing, presenting and distributing ECG data. The proposed system acquires data, from which ECG signals are extracted. The processing stage involving discrete wavelet transform is used to detect QRS complexes in the recorded signal. Results can he presented in oscilloscope type sub-windows, stored to disk or sent through network to a qualified physician. The presentation is illustrated with simulations, experimental data coming from real system measurements and data taken from MIT-BIH public database.
