In this paper, a multimedia WPW-based note-taking system is proposed to provide students an eficient way to make their own notes in the distance learning process. Using the WWW browser, audio conference, and other tools, the teacher advances the process by teaching related materials on the World Wide Web. During the process, users? inputs of the used tools, audio data of the audio conference, and the student?s own annotations for the teaching materials are automatically recorded as parts of the student?s notes. These notes can be shared by other students on the web. Consequently, the learning process is accelerated with much less efforts.
