An Innovation to Monitor Separation Effect of Separator during Well Testing

During a production test with constant pressure for oil and gas wells, whether a separator is in a normal work or not is determined by two ways:one is whether flow in outlet of discharge-fluid pipeline is continuous or not and another is combustion of flame from open nozzle. But,the two ways are characterized by an obvious lag effect. So,it's necessary to develop a new method to monitor the separator. In this study,a new concept of yield gap between gas and oil equivalent is presented at first;and then, that this method to monitor the separation effect of separator is discussed;at last, the feasibility is verified by two gas wells from different blocks in Kelameili gasfield. Results show that this method is available if in-situ equipment and software can improve.
