Polimery w medycynie : przegląd dotychczasowych osiągnięĆ

The article presents the recent state of knowledge of medical applications of natural polymers and their derivatives as well as of synthetic polymers. The review covers the following directions of macromolecular compounds' applications in medical area: technology of implants and prostheses, surgical sutures, dental materials, tissue and genetic engineering, artificial coronary vessels and technology of artificial or hybrid organs. It looks from the information presented that advances in recent medicine would not be possible without applications of different polymeric materials.
