Calculation of heat transfer rates to gas turbine blades

Abstract Five computer programs are used to calculate heat transfer rates to gas turbine blades and the results compared with experimental work on blade cascades. The programs use different methods to model the turbulence quantities. The experimental work was carried out recently in the University of Oxford freepiston tunnel.
