Fusion of heterogeneous sensor information for railway track diagnostics

The paper presents results of development of a system for railway track diagnostics. The system is developed on a base of integration of heterogeneous sensors (inertial sensors, receiver of the satellite navigation system, odometer and sensors of linear displacement). The key element of this system is the set of inertial measurement modules, based on micromechanical gyros and accelerometers, which are mounted directly onto an axle boxes (a cover of bearings) of the wheel pairs. Such a system architecture made it possible to carry out a scientific investigations of an action, provided by dynamic interaction between train and track onto the results of geometry deformations measurement, as well as to provide measurement of parameters like defects of the rail rolling surface.
