Simple Method to Identify Harmonic Effects from Another Distribution Feeder

In some distribution grids, we sometimes open shunt capacitors (SCs) to eliminate the problem of voltage rise. However, the opening of SCs changes the fifth harmonics characteristics, that can also be changed by another distribution feeder. Nevertheless, we tend to consider only one feeder because of the difficulty in simulating all of the loads, SCs, and distribution system parameters of the feeders in the same bank. In this study, for the better management and operation of distribution grids, we considered the effect of another distribution feeder. We used some grid models consisting of two feeders and calculated fifth harmonics impedance. Consequently, we showed that the effects of another distribution feeder tend to be significant in a short distance feeder.
