Polyimide Splitters for Terahertz Surface Plasmons

This work is the first experimental demonstration of the fact that a polyimide kapton film of submillimetre thickness can effectively split THz SPs. Measurements of the transmission and reflection coefficients of SPs on gold-ZnS layer plane structures using monochromatic terahertz $\lambda=130\ \mu\mathrm{m})$ radiation of the Novosibirsk free-electron laser have shown good accordance with theoretical and numerical calculations.
