Study on simulation manner of wind tunnel test of high-speed train model

The wind tunnel test investigation of 1∶ 20 scaled high-speed train model formed by one and a half formation and ballast-rail model was carried out.The effect of configuration and size of front and lateral slopes of ballast,the clearance of adjacent cars,and the gap of bogie wheel bottom and rail top on wind tunnel testing results of high-speed train model was researched,and the simulation manner settled for request of wind tunnel test of high-speed train model was obtained.The investigation results indicate that during the wind tunnel test of high-speed train model,once the ballast-rail is simulated,the length of front ballast ahead the head car must be no less than 3 width of train model body,and the angles of front and lateral slopes of ballast must be no more than 35°.When the multiple formation of 1∶ 20 scaled train model is simulated,the clearance of adjacent cars must be less than 5 mm,and the gap between the bottom of bogie wheel and the top of rail must be less than 4 mm.
