A CMOS preamplifier for electret microphones

In this paper a CMOS preamplifier for capacitive sources is presented. The 20 dB gain preamplifier achieves a dynamic range of 54 dB while the total harmonic distortion is below -50 dB. Monte Carlo analyses have shown output random offset voltages below 40 mvolts. The power consumption of the proposed preamplifier is 24 /spl mu/watts. All this has been achieved due to the use of a novel resistor and linearized OTAs.
