A Novel Trigger Circuit for Closed Loop Control of Thyristor Convertors

A novel trigger circuit suitable for closed loop control of thyristor converters with a fast acting current feedback loop using an opto-isolator type of direct current transducer is described. The scheme, using a very low component count in the circuitry, has a linear relationship between the output and control voltages.
