A Rogowski coil for high voltage applications

The design of a large bandwidth Rogowski probe for very high voltage applications is considered, based on the analysis of stray capacitance and shielding issues. The Rogowski is interfaced to the measuring instrument through a high CMRR instrumentation amplifier. The focus is on electric field rejection rather than insulation, that is ensured with optical or radio link. Target application is the current measurement on high voltage electric railway and power transmission and distribution lines.
