A Computerized, Interactive Coronary Care Unit Monitoring System

A system for monitoring the electrocardiogram (ECG) in a coronary intensive care unit is described. Most of the signal analysis is done by a digital computer. The system is essentially interactive: communication with the system is accomplished by means of a visual display and keyboard terminal. Therapy data storage facilities are also available. Results from signal analysis and therapy data are stored on analog and digital tape, for evaluation purposes. The system assists in alarming, therapy evaluation, and documentation of the patient's condition.
