The objective of our investigation was to validate the potential of L-band SAR for the mapping of rapid subsidence and to demonstrate its monitoring capability for the specific case, Belridge in California USA. The results confirm the good potential of L-band repeat-pass interferometry to map and monitor subsidence. Subsidence rates of more than 46 cm per year were observed and mapped.
