RESEARCH ON MOTOR TERMINAL OVER-VOLTAGE CAUSED BY HIGH-FREQUENCY PWM PULSE

This paper investigates the principle of motor terminal over-voltage b y analyzing the transmission and reflection of PWM pulse wave on cable using tra nsmission line theory. The relations between the over-voltage and cable, carrie r-frequency are established by simulations based on the system model in which t he changes of cable and motor parameter are presented because of high frequency of reflected pulse wave. Finally, the designed impedance-matching Terminator ef fectively reduces the transient over-voltage.
