AN OBJECT-ORIENTED METHOD FOR PROCESS MODELLING

Abstract An object-oriented process modelling method is presented. The mechanisms embedded in object-oriented languages, such as encapsulation and inheritance, are used to build models of a class of chemical processes. The modelling approach has proven to be flexible with regard to model changes, reuse of established models and maintenance. Object-oriented visualizations of the models have been useful in communication with process experts.
