A model for optimal feeder vessel management in container terminals

The maritime port logistical performances remains a challenge for the socio-economic development. It is related to different activities in the port. The feeder vessel management problem is one of the different problems in maritime port. In this work, we present the feeder vessel management problem and the related works in the literature. In particular, we study the case of Le Havre sea port. We present the steps to resolve the feeder vessel management problem, based on an analysis of the activities in this port. The steps include the proposition of a model for improving the feeder vessel management. The objective of this model is to define an optimal berth allocation planning of feeder vessels, which minimizes the waiting time of ships (both feeder and mother vessels) in Le Havre sea port.
