1/f noise in the variance of Johnson noise

A criterion is derived for the detection limit of 1/f noise in the variance of the Johnson noise in thermal equilibrium. Experiments confirm the derived criterion. The results support the idea that in thermal equilibrium the resistance shows 1/f noise.
