DISTORTION-INVARIANT FRACTIONAL POWER FRINGE-ADJUSTED JOINT TRANSFORM CORRELATION

A distortion-invariant joint transform correlation (JTC), based on the fractional power fringe-adjusted joint transform correlation and synthetic discriminant function, is investigated. By suitably adjusting the parameters used to characterize the fractional power fringe-adjusted fil- ter formulation, we obtain JTC-based classical matched filtering, fringe- adjusted filtering, and amplitude-modulated phase-only filtering. Com- puter simulation results show that the proposed joint transform correlation is distortion-invariant for the target image from the training set. © 1998 Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers.
